Ambassador Jamale CHOUAIBI delivers a speech at the inaugural screening of the 1st decentralization of FESPACO, Hanoi, 11th March 2022

Hanoi, 11th March 2022 - The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Embassy of Belgium in Vietnam, the Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific of the International Organization of La Francophonie and the General Delegation Wallonia-Brussels in Vietnam has kicked off the 1st decentralization of the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO - Burkina Faso) on March 11, 2022 at the National Documentary and Scientific Films Studio, Hanoi.

Addressing at the opening ceremony, Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Jamale Chouaibi expressed his sincere thanks to the members of the organizing committee and cinema lovers for their presence. He also highlighted the rise of Moroccan cinema and its remarkable contribution to the affirmation of African 7th Art.

He also expressed his sincere wishes to see this initiative continued as an annual meeting which will allow the Vietnamese public to discover the different facets of African cinema, and hence the cultural and artistic diversity of this continent.

The opening remarks were followed by the projection of the masterpiece “A mile in my shoes” by Moroccan director Said KHALLAF who won the Bronze Stallion of the Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival of Ouagadougou in 2017 (FESPACO 2017).
