Central African Republic Reaffirms Support for Morocco's Territorial Integrity

Marrakech, 12 May 2022 - The Central African Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, reiterated, on Wednesday in Marrakech, her country's support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, welcoming Morocco's efforts to achieve a political, realistic, practical and lasting solution to the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

"The Central African Republic supports the territorial integrity of Morocco and its national unity, and welcomes the Kingdom's efforts to achieve a political, realistic, practical and lasting solution to the regional dispute, within the framework of the United Nations", underlined the Central African top diplomat during a joint press briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, following their talks held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

The Central African Republic "supports the autonomy plan initiative presented by the Kingdom of Morocco as the one and only solution within the framework of its territorial integrity", said Ms. Baïpo-Temon.

The minister added that her talks with Mr. Bourita were an opportunity to commend the excellent bilateral relations, to review a number of issues of common interest and to take stock of the political and security situation in the Central African Republic.

With regard to the fight against terrorism, she underlined the importance of the commitment of all parties in the efforts to dry up the sources of terrorism on the African continent, praising, in this regard, the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the area of the fight against terrorism in all its forms and the Sovereign's vision for the promotion of development in the continent.
